The Shrewsbury Big Curry - Saturday 21 July 2012 -  In support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The Army chefs, who think they know how to make a good curry, have challenged the civilian chefs from the TASTE Kitchen to a curry cook-off – THE BIG CURRY. The TASTE kitchen, with a menu featuring the finest food and drink from the heart of England, is based at Shropshire Food Enterprise Centre in Shrewsbury. The Shrewsbury Big Curry is taking place in The Square in the centre of Shrewsbury from 12.00 – 4.00 pm on Saturday 21 July.

There will be a carnival atmosphere with jazz music, wine and beer for sale and that magic ingredient of sunshine!

ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity, helps those in the Army family who have been prepared to risk everything for us on operations in Afghanistan. Wounded, injured and sick soldiers and their families are rebuilding their lives in Shropshire and ABF is there to help them.

Last year ABF raised £7,500 and this year the target is £10,000

In return for a £5.00 donation to The Soldiers’ Charity, members of the public will be given a portion of Army and TASTE Kitchen curry and some rice. They then decide which curry is the best and place their empty plate in the appropriate bin. The bin containing the most plates at the end of the day determines the winner of the Curry cook-off.

Visit The Square, Shrewsbury to Grab a Curry. At the same time you can enjoy a drink whilst listening to some great jazz music and watching the fabulous Indian Dhol Drummers.

Please support our soldiers as they struggle to resume a quality of life which most of us take for granted.
