Lichfield Food Festival - an invitation to take part
Sat, 01 Sep 2012 - Sun, 02 Sep 2012
Chef Simon Smith, of Thrales Restaurant in Lichfield, Staffordshire, is helping to organise the first Lichfield Food Festival in September. He is inviting local food and drink producers to take park.
Dear Restaurateur / Food producer,
I am helping organise the first Lichfield Food Festival in conjunction with The Garrick Theatre on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September 2012.
The event will take place in The Garrick Theatre, Guild Room in the Guild Hall, and Market Square.
There will be celebrity chef demonstrations on both days. Saturday afternoon Anthony Worrall-Thompson will perform and Sunday evening’s performance will be by John Torode.
The event will be widely advertised by means of a unique website, the Tourist board, flyers, The Garrick brochure and other mediums.
We have 15 places for stalls inside the Studio Theatre at £60 per day to include electricity. We are looking for a wide range of food producers and affiliated businesses to take part. If you are connected to the 'food world' then this event is for you.
During the Saturday and Sunday there will be a series of cookery demonstrations in the main theatre. There will be a demo kitchen installed with all equipment such as pots and pans, store cupboard ingredients. There will be two televisions on set. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is interested in promoting their business to take a demonstration slot of 30 minutes which will be advertised in all promotional material. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening there will be a celebrity chef performance and book signing.
We are also hoping local restaurants will support this event with a 'Dining Around the World' lunch menu at £10 for two courses as an opportunity to attract new business. Again this will be widely publicised in all promotional material and website. In addition to that we are looking to put together a voucher booklet for all restaurants who want to give a special offer for the months of October and November to fill those quieter months.
The new Garrick brochure comes out at the end of April with a double page spread about the event. We are, therefore, looking to get as much commitment before the end of March to include you in that article.
The website is currently under construction and will be up and running by the end of March. All your information and demo times will be on there.
Please let me know as soon as you can if you are interested in being involved. All enquiries should be sent to :- simonsmith57@btinternet.com.
Kind regards
Simon
