Food and Drink Awards
Celebrating the fantastic food and drink available in the heart of England region.
The winners of the 2013 HEART of ENGLAND fine foods Diamond Awards were announced on Saturday 10 May at the annual Diamond Awards Gala Dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
The HEART of ENGLAND fine foods Diamond Awards are open to food and drink producers in the region as well as retailers and hospitality providers selling and serving local food and drink and business service providers offering services to support food and drink producers across Birmingham & the Black Country, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The Diamond Awards are now in their sixth successful year.
There are nine product categories with each product being judged on its appearance, its flavour and texture by a group of up to 100 independent judges. The winners of each category then go through to be judged by a special panel which decides the overall winner of the Special Diamond Award: TASTE.
The awards for retailers and hospitality providers celebrate the successes of members who serve and promote regional food and drink.
In addition to the product, retailer and hospitality awards, there are three Special Diamond Awards which reward businesses which have shown growth, innovation or business excellence. The Special Diamond Awards: GROW and INNOVATE are awarded to producer members and the Special Diamond Award: EXCEL is open to all members, producers, retailers, hospitality providers and business service providers alike who have demonstrated excellence in their business.
